Our History

The Old Bridge Junior Knights Youth Ice Hockey Program was established in October 2001 by founding member John "Father Hockey" Piccolo. The program under Mr. Pic was intended to provide a positive, constructive, physical outlet for the youth of Old Bridge as well as the surrounding communities through the sport of Ice Hockey. Mr. Pic loved the sport and his approach was pure and simple, "Its all about the kids!" This motto was the spirit in which he built and promoted this new youth travel hockey program. His hope was to add to the growing popularity of the sport by making this a family oriented program. In our first year, we offered a Learn to Play Program that ranged from age 5 to 15.  At the end of the season, we were able to form 4 teams. Fast forward to current day, OBJK Hockey, has grown to  eleven teams ranging from 8U to 18U.  We proudly compete in the NJYHL and AAHA, as well as in-state and out of state tournaments year after year.
